The adventure begins from the country's capital, Ljubljana, and the tour will start by cycling to the Iski Vintgar Canyon. This hidden jewel is surrounded by forested mountains created by the crystal clear Iski River, south of Ljubljana.
The next day, participants will bike to the Krka River Canyon following the Krka River, the longest in Slovenia, stopping at the picturesque Zuzemberk Castle. From here, the tour will continue to the Dolenjske Toplice Spa, where cyclists can rest at one of the oldest health resorts in Slovenia and also go swimming in the evening.
The journey carries on from the small municipality of Osilnica cycling along the Kolpa River. Here, participants can stop to swim in the historically important Kolpa canyon. From here, the tour will return to Ljubljana for the night.
The next day the Slovenia bike tour heads northwest to one of Europe's oldest national parks, Triglav National Park. Participants will have a chance to see Lake Bled and its beautiful castle before going to Pokljuka mountain where participants will cycle through beautiful meadows and have an opportunity to try the traditional sour milk and other local homemade treats. The tour will continue to Bohinj Lake, Slovenia's largest glacial lake.
From here, the tour then resumes to the centre of Triglav National Park, in Vrsic pass where the tour ascends to the Soca River Canyon. The bike tour will follow the Soca River and cycle through the beautiful environs of the Trenta Valley and end the day at Bovec.
The tour heads towards the Adriatic Sea from here, where participants will follow the Dragonja River towards the nature park of Secovlje Salina where travellers can see the traditional salt harvesting process. From here, the tour will cycle on the Slovenian coast to the adorable medieval town of Piran.
The last day of the tour will take participants inland to the UNESCO protected Skocjan Caves with its exceedingly vast canyon. After this we will head to the Slovenia's biggest intermittent, Lake Cerknica, that remarkably shrinks and expands throughout the year. From here the tour will head back to Ljublana, the last stop of the Slovenia bike tour.
