Starting in the Karst region, a remarkable area with phenomenal limestone cave formations and disappearing lakes. Participants can visit the scenic 12th century Predjama Castle, incredibly set in rocky limestone cliffs. Afterwards, travellers will have the chance to explore the UNESCO Heritage Škocjan caves, with fascinating waterfalls and caves 200 metres deep.
The tour will then passes through Slovenia's largest coastal town, Koper, and continue through the ancient fishing town of Izola and the famous coastal city of Portorož, halting at the medieval town of Piran. This beautiful town is set right on the end of Piran peninsula, and is considered an outdoor museum of medieval architecture of small compact houses and narrow alleyways.
Here guests can enjoy a delicious lunch and in the summertime have the chance to swim in the Adriatic sea.
After this, the tour will offer the chance for participants to see the world-famous Slovenian Lipizzaner horses. These talented horses were bred with support of the Hapsburgs, and participants will get to see them in Lipica showing off their stylized dance movements and jumps.
Before returning, the tour will stop in a traditional wine cellar where guests can try some famous Slovenian wine along with the traditional dried ham of the Karst region, called pršut.
