Slovenia viticulture dates back to 2400 years ago and unlike other wine producing European countries, Slovenia began producing wine far before Roman occupation. Today Slovenia produces over 20 million gallons of wine annually, yet it is difficult to find Slovenian wine outside the country.
Slovenia produces all types of wine due to its diverse regional climates, including whites, reds and roses. The most prominent winemaking regions of Slovenia are Primorska, Posavje and Podravje. In the wine gallery, there will be a short session in wine tasting and participants can try some of the six different wines of Slovenia from different regions. There will also be an opportunity to buy bottles at reasonable rates.
