Getting To Ljubljana
By Air
The Jože Pučnik Airport is serviced by many flights from different European countries, including Adria Airways, Slovenia's national carrier, and Easyjet. The airport, which was formerly known as Brnik Airport or Aerodrom Ljubljana, is located 27 km away from the city. The airport itself is fairly small. While the redesign of Terminal 1 was completed in 2007, expansion plans for building a second terminal are in place; Terminal is set to be completed by 2010. The airport is well connected to the city, with regular taxi, bus and train services. The Ljubljana bus and train stations can be found at Trg Osvobodilne Fronte (OF), which is situated at the city centre. As a result, the city's main attractions are at a walking distance from both stations. A metered taxi from the airport to the city centre can cost as much as €30-€40; however, you can save some money if you order a taxi in advance through us. You can also get direct flights to other international destinations such as Amsterdam, Athens, Brussels, Frankfurt, Istanbul, London, Moscow, Paris, Sarajevo, Stockholm and Zürich from the airport.

Like other European cities, Ljubljana is also well connected by train to many cities in the European subcontinent, such as Salzburg, Vienna, Munich, Budapest, Zurich and Prague.
By Bus
The Avtobusna Postaja, or bus station, is situated next to the railway station and provides bus services throughout Slovenia as well as to neighbouring countries. The station offers the facility of search engines that enable passengers to determine routes across the country. These can be searched in English as well. In addition, accurate and detailed timetables and routes in English can be obtained at the bus station.
By Car
The roads in Ljubljana and in all of Slovenia are well maintained. Renting a car is a popular option with tourists who want to visit remote locations outside Ljubljana. Contact us fore more information.
Getting Around Ljubljana
Walking
Given that the city is rather small, walking is perhaps the best and most inexpensive option for sightseeing the city of Ljubljana. Free city maps are available at the many Tourist Information Offices that are located at the train stations or at the city centre. The railway and bus stations are within walking distance from the central part of the town, which is known as the ‘Three Bridges' area. This part of town can be reached by taking any road leading southwards from the station.
By Bus
If walking is not an option, you can use the city's excellent bus service. Bus fares cost a standard €1 in cash, or €0.80 with a token. Do keep in mind that the frequency of buses decreases in the evenings and stops altogether post midnight. Also, do not be confused by the maps in the bus stations which, up till January 2008, continued to indicate the old bus routes, which were revised in September 2007.
By Taxi
Sharing taxis is another cheap way to travel, especially when you are in a rush. However, fares vary from taxi to taxi, and booking a taxi in advance is good way to get reduced fares.
